About the role

You'll join a small, senior engineering team shipping mission-critical software for clinics, retailers and SACCOs across East Africa. You'll lead technical design on at least one major client engagement and mentor mid-level engineers.

What you'll do

Design and ship full-stack features across TypeScript, Node and Postgres
Lead integrations with M-Pesa Daraja, KRA eTIMS, SHA/PIMS and core banking APIs
Own production reliability for your services — alerting, runbooks, on-call
Mentor 2–3 engineers and lead code reviews

What we're looking for

5+ years building production web applications
Deep TypeScript, React and Node expertise
Strong Postgres skills — schema design, query tuning, migrations
Has shipped at least one payments or regulatory integration

Nice to have

Experience with TanStack Start / Next / Remix
Familiarity with Daraja, eTIMS or SHA APIs
Cloud Run / Cloudflare Workers deployment experience
