eTIMS is no longer optional for VAT-registered businesses in Kenya. But the rollout has been confusing — OSCU, VSCU, online portal, SDK, bridge devices — and most teams aren't sure what they actually need.
Here's the short version: if you have a real POS, integrate the VSCU SDK directly. If you have many small merchants, a hosted VSCU bridge with per-tenant keys is the cleanest path. The portal is fine for invoicing-only businesses doing under ~50 invoices a day.
